Using Conventions of Real Media Products 1

A big deal of research and planning I constructed for my radio was I focused on finding out the conventions of radio, so that I could create my own station with the same conventions as real radio station. Each element that was in my script on something I heard or researched from the ways that my jingles were constructed to the running order of my show. In my research I wrote out a real piece script to show how to construct my script and to layout my news bulletins. I looked at LBC.

The first thing I did after completing my preliminary task was listen to a range of radio station, from different Genres and different times of day. I wanted to find out whether different radio stations shares conventions regardless of genre so I listened to LBC, BBC Radio 1, Capital and Absolute Radio, noting what was similar

I found out they were a lot of similarities in terms of conventions, particularly when it came to the presentation of the news even though they are all completely different stations and different audiences.

Each news bulletin contains al least three of four stories, which features outside broadcasts, sound bites and voxpops.

Each news bulletin I listened to begun with news music, that often wasn't in the same beat as the rest of the station. Which I did the same
